The annual IB Senior Celebration banquet at the Coliseum on May 20 was a success with 499 guests attending. The celebration committee went all out to make this a special night for the seniors. SPHS Jazz Band entertained guests as they arrived. The event’s photographer took family and individual photos, and guests perused IB memorabilia such as program scrapbooks and photos of seniors’ alumni family members. (more…)
Commencement exercises were held on Friday May 24th at 1:00 pm at Tropicana Field. The program included performances by the Pitchforks, and valedictory addresses by Catherine Lee and Taylor Redington. Principal Lebo provided welcoming comments and highlighted Class of 2019’s many accomplishments.

The SPHS Prom will be Friday evening, April 12, at the Coliseum from 8:00 to 12:00 midnight. The theme is “Havana Nights.” Presale tickets will be sold for 45.00 through April 5. Tickets the week of Prom (April 8-12) are $50. You can buy your tickets at 120-A Main Hallway during lunch.
Tickets for guests not attending St. Pete High must have a form filled out and signed by an administrator prior to purchasing tickets. Pick up forms in the Main Office or on the school website at https://www.pcsb.org/Page/233.
Voting for Junior Prince /Princess and Prom King/Queen will be held in English classes April 9-11.
The Music and Art Departments are collaborating for a spectacular multi-media Spring Concert! Art I and Art II students are creating fine art corresponding to musical selections. A slide show will be presented simultaneously of the art work for the viewing audience.
The concert and art event will be performed on April 23 at 7 pm in the auditorium. Refreshments will follow. It promises to be an event not to be missed!
Anyone interested in Marching Band for next year should attend the parent meeting on April 15 at 7 pm in the band room.

The Band program’s Winter Concert will be Thursday, December 13 at 7 pm in the Auditorium.
It will feature the Wind Symphony, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and String Ensemble. The Jazz and String ensembles are new this year, and the newly formed Winter Guard might participate also. (more…)
Goldfever is scheduled for January 18, 2019 at 7 pm in the Auditorium. The theme this year is Goldfever Goes Gen-Z! Tickets are $8 in advance during school and lunch hours. Tickets will be $10 at the door.
Goldfever is a high-energy dance and lip sync contest and is the annual fundraiser for the Theatre Department. Many campus clubs and organizations participate and it has been a great success for over twenty years.
Awards are given in the following categories:
- Best Overall
- Best Organization
- Best Service Club
- Critic’s Choice
- Fan Favorite where the audience is the judge!
The Prom, for juniors and seniors only, will be on April 12, 2019 at the Coliseum.
Guests must be juniors, seniors, and under 20 years old as of April 12, 2019.
Tickets will go on sale March 18 through April 12 at school. No tickets are sold at the door. More information will be available closer to the date.
The Senior Celebration for 2019 SPHS IB graduates will be held on Monday May 20, 2019 from 5:45 pm – 9:30 pm at the the Coliseum.
Graduating SPHS IB seniors participate in two graduation events in May: The schoolwide graduation procession, and the IB Senior Celebration. The Senior Celebration is an extensively-planned banquet that honors the graduating seniors. It typically is held in the historic Coliseum and includes awards, skits, speeches, and music. Our faculty and staff and families and guests of the seniors attend. Past pictures of the decorated venue are included below.
The IB Senior Celebration Committee invites parents of Underclassmen, Juniors, and Seniors to join us in planning the Senior Celebration. We meet once per month to party plan the event. (more…)

Winter guard is a competitive dance and color guard ensemble that performs throughout Tampa Bay. Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning November 6.

The next IB Booster Board meeting will be: Monday Nov 5 at 6:30 pm.
Meetings usually are held monthly on the second Tuesday of the month in the IB Office. Due to schedule conflicts, the dates sometimes vary. Meeting dates appear on the calendar.
Find out about the breadth of IB boosters volunteer activities and how you could be involved. We are a friendly group! Joining a committee or helping with an activity are great ways to connect with other IB parents and the IB program and staff.
We hope you can join us at an IB Booster Board meeting!
The SPHS Fall Play, Lauren Gunderson’s Silent Sky, will be performed Thursday through Saturday, November 8-10 at 7pm, Auditorium Theater. Silent Sky, much like the movie “Hidden Figures,” shines a light on the women who made critical, groundbreaking contributions to our understanding of space with both warmth and humor.
Tickets are $8 for students, $12 for adults, I.T.S. Honored. Disabled and preferred seating are available. (more…)

- Sophomores (Class of 2021) Wednesday, August 8 (10am-1pm)
- Freshman (Class of 2022) Thursday, August 9 on this date freshman can select* a locker on 2nd floor (10am-1pm)
