With our just-graduated IB daughter Meara O’Connor soon heading away to college, we will take off our Editor hats after publishing this most recent set of Advocate articles. One of the rewards of four years of editing The Advocate has been learning about SPHS’ rich environment and traditions, especially its venerable IB program. We enjoyed working with many staff, faculty, and parents, and appreciate their news and photographs which help us all feel more connected with the school. We are glad to have created the Advocate website and managed the transition to the Advocate‘s online format. It has greatly simplified the production efforts and newsletter costs, and allows us to share more and exciting pictures of our students and their activities.
Our editor successors will be IB parents Emily Green and Dr. Hilary Stockdon, and we extend a warm welcome to them. Hilary’s daughter is Ava Thompson, a rising sophomore. Emily’s students are Owen Uber, a rising senior, and Keira Uber, a rising sophomore.
The Advocate is comprised of contributions by the IB Coordinator, Mrs. Lane, IB and Traditional staff and faculty, and SPHS IB families. To help ensure the future success of The Advocate, please continue to send your news and photos of IB students and IB alumni to Emily and Hilary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your communications and support during the past several years,
Maureen Corbett and Joe O’Connor
