Vivienne Dumas and AP art teacher Brianne Gates

Vivienne Dumas (IB Junior) traveled to New York City to participate in the Art and Writing Scholastic Competition awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall on June 6, 2018.  Vivienne submitted 5 pieces, and all 5 where recognized. However, her pen drawing titled “Florida Girls” (pictured below) was a gold medal winner!

The rest of her time in NYC was spent touring the city with her mom Sally Dumas and AP art teacher Brianne Gates.  “Florida Girls” will be on display in NYC at the Parsons School of Design before it makes its tour around the nation.  This art won’t  be returned to Vivienne until 2020!

Although Vivienne will not be in an art class her junior or senior years, she still looks forward to participating in art competitions and further developing her skills.  Congratulations Vivienne!
