On October 9 2017 Zachary Tetreault earned the highest honor in scouting, the rank of Eagle Scout with Gold Palm distinction. He is a senior in the IB Program.
To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a scout must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership and community service by planning, organizing and carrying out an Eagle project that benefits the community. Zachary also earned the Eagle Gold Palm for merit badges.
For his project, Zachary constructed four bat houses that will serve the Shore Acres neighborhood as an environmentally friendly alternative to reduce the mosquito population and reduce the threat of Zika virus in the community.
Zachary is a member of Troop 301 sponsored by Pasadena Presbyterian Church and guided by Scout Master Deb Turner. Zachary also is a member of the Green Devils Marching Band, National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa History Honor Society, and the Tri – M Music Honor Society. He plans to study International and Global affairs at the University of Florida next year.
Thanks to Zachary’s mom, Lisa Tetreault, for providing information and the photo for this post.
