According to the U.S. Department of Education, there are four common mistakes made on Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms last period. FAFSA are prepared prospective college students (e.g, seniors applying for college) to determine their eligibility for student financial aid.
Look closely to see how this year’s cake presented a bit of unintended humorous irony.
Mrs. Johnson outlined the overall college application process for senior students and their parent at the August meeting in the cafeteria. Mrs. Lane provided words of support and encouragement to close the meeting.

ALL students who want to use a school locker must purchase an SPHS lock. You cannot use a lock from middle school or one purchased from a store.
Locks are for sale in the IB Office for $5 (CASH ONLY PLEASE BRING EXACT CHANGE) and can be re-used each year.
Lock sales and locker assignments will take place in the IB Office (Room 157) from 10am-1pm on the following dates:
- Seniors (Class of 2019) Monday, August 6 (noon to 2:30 pm – New time period!)
- Juniors (Class of 2020) Tuesday, August7 (10am-1pm)
- Sophomores (Class of 2021) Wednesday, August 8 (10am-1pm)
- Freshman (Class of 2022) Thursday, August 9 on this date freshman can select* a locker on 2nd floor (10am-1pm)
Class 2020 – Rising Juniors: IB Chemistry 1
Students should review rules for writing chemical names and formulas, including brushing up on ions. There will be a quiz during the first class meeting.
Class 2019 – Rising Seniors: IB Chemistry 2
Background, safety, materials list and procedure for individual investigation will be due, uploaded to Manage Bac, prior to the start of school. Check the class calendar in Manage Bac for the exact deadline.

The August 30, 2017 Pinning Ceremony commemorated the transition of IB juniors from the pre-diploma program to their official entry into the IB Diploma Program at the start of their junior year.
